For business

Offices, salons and communal spaces

We clean business premises as well as homes. Work is done around your opening hours, on a contract or as a one off, and invoiced monthly against a single statement.

How a commercial job runs

  • Cleaned before you open, after you close, or at weekends, whatever suits the premises
  • Daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly, on a fixed day
  • Keys collected and signed for, alarm codes handled properly
  • One named contact who quotes the job and runs it, not a call centre
  • Invoiced monthly against one statement, with each site as its own line
  • Consumables restocked on request: hand towels, soap, bin liners, washroom supplies

Priced on the premises

Commercial work is quoted after we have seen the site, because floor area, flooring type, washroom count, footfall and access hours move the price far more than they do in a home. We will not give you a number over the phone and then change it on arrival.

Tell us the address, roughly what size it is and when we can get in, and we will come and look. The written quote follows within the hour of that visit.

The scope

What an end of tenancy clean covers

For homes and rentals. Commercial scopes are written per site, below.

A table top being wiped down by hand with a cloth and spray

Included as standard

  • Every room cleaned throughout, floors vacuumed to the edges and mopped
  • Inside all cupboards, drawers and wardrobes
  • Hob and extractor exterior, fridge and freezer exterior
  • Bathrooms fully descaled, including shower screen, tiles, grout and taps
  • Internal windows, sills and frames
  • Skirting boards, both sides of every door, handles, frames, switches and sockets
  • Bins cleaned inside and out
  • Behind and under appliances where they can be moved safely

Priced separately

  • Ovens, hobs and appliance interiors
  • Carpet, sofa and mattress cleaning
  • Exterior windows
  • Mould treatment, quoted after inspection
  • Removal of belongings or waste

The property must be empty and cleared before we arrive. Most letting agents ask for the oven, and we recommend adding it. Add any of these in the quote builder below.

Questions

The things people ask first

Do I need to supply anything?

No. We bring our own professional products, cloths and machines. If you would rather we used your products, it comes off the bill.

How quickly will I get a price?

In writing within one hour of your enquiry, itemised, with each line and its reason, and the date we can do it.

What if the property is worse than I described?

We call you before we start. We tell you what is different, what it means for the time and the price, and you decide. If we have not spoken to you, the price does not change.

Do you charge for travel or parking?

No. No mileage, no parking, no call-out fee, no weekend or evening surcharge. If you are outside our area we say so when you enquire rather than quoting and adding the drive on afterwards.

Is there a minimum booking?

Three hours on regular and one-off cleaning. If that is more than you need, we put the extra time towards something specific such as the oven or the inside of your kitchen cupboards.

If I add something on the day, does it eat into my hours?

No. An extra never comes out of the hours you booked. If you add an oven to a four hour visit, the visit becomes five and a half hours and we tell you the price and the new finish time before we start. Your cleaning is not shortened to fit it in.

Does sending two cleaners cost more?

No. We charge for hours of work, not hours on site. Two cleaners for two hours costs the same as one cleaner for four, and you get your property back sooner.

Why is the first regular clean more expensive?

Nobody books a cleaner because their home is already spotless. The first visit takes longer, so it is charged at the one-off rate. From the second visit you move to the lower regular rate and the visits get shorter.

Are you insured?

Yes, fully. We are a limited company registered in England and Wales and we carry public liability cover up to £5 million. Certificates are available on request and go out with agent onboarding packs.

Do you clean commercial premises?

Yes. Offices, salons, lettings branches, communal areas, retail units, clinics, gyms and places of worship across Birmingham and the West Midlands. Commercial jobs are quoted after a site visit rather than over the phone.

Can you clean outside our opening hours?

Yes. Most commercial work is done before opening, after closing or at weekends so it never interrupts trading. We hold keys and alarm codes where that is agreed in writing.

How do I pay?

Bank transfer, at the end of the job, on the day. One-off and end of tenancy work over £120 takes a 25% deposit when you book and the balance on completion. Regular cleaning takes no deposit and each visit is paid at the end of that visit. Short let accounts are invoiced monthly at 7 days; letting agents, landlords and commercial customers monthly in arrears at 14 days.

Privacy notice

Who we are. Heralding Cleaning Services Ltd, company number 17260072, registered in England and Wales. You can reach us at [email protected] or 07857 292747.

What we collect. When you ask for a quote we collect your name, email address, phone number, the property postcode, the details of the job and anything you type into the notes. If you are enquiring for a company we also collect that business name. We do not collect payment details through this website.

Why we collect it. Solely to prepare and send your quote, to arrange and carry out the work, and to invoice you. Nothing else.

Unfinished quotes. If you start a quote and leave before sending it, we may still hold what you entered, including your contact details if you had reached that step. We may contact you once about that specific enquiry to ask whether you still need the work. If you would rather we did not, tell us and we will delete it immediately.

Marketing. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.

How long we keep it. Enquiries that do not become work are deleted within twelve months. Records of completed work are kept for six years, because tax law requires it.

Your rights. You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will act within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Terms and conditions

Our quote. Every price is based on the information you give us: the size of the property, whether it is occupied or empty, its condition, and what you want done. The written quote we send is the price we hold to, and it does not change on the day unless you ask us to add something. The calculator on this site previews that quote from what you have entered; it is not itself an offer, because we have not yet seen the property.

If the property is not as described. We call you before we start. We tell you what is different, what it means for the time and the price, and you decide. If we have not spoken to you, the price does not change. We will never carry on regardless and present you with a bigger bill at the end.

If we cannot reach you we do as much of the agreed work as the quoted time allows, leave a note of what is outstanding and why, and charge only what was quoted.

Before we arrive. For end of tenancy work the property must be empty and cleared. For all work we need running water, electricity and safe access.

Adding to the job on the day. We tell you the price and the new finish time before we start, and only begin once you have agreed to both.

Paying. Bank transfer. We take payment before we leave.

  • Private customers. One-off and end of tenancy work over £120: 25% deposit when you book, balance paid on completion, on the day. Regular cleaning: no deposit, each visit paid at the end of that visit.
  • Your deposit is refunded in full if you cancel with more than 24 hours notice, or at any point before we start work within your 14-day cancellation period.
  • Short let and changeover on a standing arrangement: no deposit, one invoice at the end of each month listing every visit, payable within 7 days. Weekly instead if you prefer.
  • Letting agents, landlords with portfolios and commercial customers: no deposit, invoiced monthly in arrears, payable within 14 days unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
  • Overdue invoices are chased by email first, and we will not stop a recurring service without telling you. For business customers we reserve the right to charge statutory interest and compensation on overdue commercial debts.

In all cases. The price on your quote is the price. No call-out fee, no travel charge, no parking charge, no weekend or evening surcharge. Minimum booking is 3 hours on regular and one-off cleaning; short let changeovers have a 2 hour minimum on a standing arrangement.

Materials. We bring our own professional products and equipment. If you would prefer we used yours, it comes off the bill.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

Cancellation and rescheduling

Fair notice is 24 hours, and it works the same in both directions.

If you cancel or move a visit. More than 24 hours before, there is no charge, we rebook and any deposit is refunded in full. Less than 24 hours before, 50% of the quoted price. No access on the day, or nobody there when access was required, is charged in full because the slot cannot be refilled.

If we cancel or move a visit. More than 24 hours before, we offer you the next available slot. Less than 24 hours before, we offer you the next available slot and take 50% off that visit. If we do not turn up and have not told you, that visit is free.

The 50% figure is there because a cancelled slot usually cannot be refilled at short notice, not to penalise you. If something genuinely unavoidable happens, tell us and we will be reasonable about it.

Cancelling part way through. Before we start, nothing is payable and any deposit comes back in full. Part way through, you pay only the hours already worked. Once the clean is finished it is complete and payable in full.

Short notice bookings. We take same day and next day work whenever we have a slot free. Because that usually means moving something already arranged, there is a £25 short notice charge on jobs of £120 or more booked within 24 hours of the visit. We tell you the figure before you commit.

Your first 14 days. Private customers only, not letting agents, landlords or other business customers. Because we agree bookings by phone, message or at your door rather than in a shop, the law gives you 14 days to cancel without giving a reason. If you want your clean sooner than that, we will ask you to confirm by reply that you want us to start before the 14 days are up and that once the clean is finished it can no longer be cancelled.

To cancel or move a booking, ring, WhatsApp or email us. We confirm every change in writing.

Re-clean guarantee

If something has been missed, tell us within 24 hours of the clean and we come back and put it right at no charge.

We ask for 24 hours because after a day in an occupied property it stops being possible to tell our work from ordinary use. For end of tenancy jobs agents normally inspect quickly, so this is rarely a problem.

How it works. Tell us what is wrong by phone, message or email. A photograph helps and is not required. We offer a return visit within two working days, sooner for an end of tenancy job waiting on an inspection. We clean the items you have identified, to the checklist, at no charge.

If you are still not satisfied after the return visit, say so and we refund the part of the job that was not done properly.

A return clean covers work that was in the agreed scope and was not done to standard. It does not cover work that was never quoted, or new mess made after we left.

Access and keys

You do not have to be there. Most end of tenancy and commercial work happens in empty premises.

Keysafes and smart lock codes are our preferred method. For short let and changeover work they are effectively required, because weekly turnarounds do not work if a key has to be collected and returned each time.

Where we hold a physical key. It is tagged with a code, never with your address, so a lost key cannot be matched to a property. Keys are signed in and out against each visit. They are returned within 48 hours of the arrangement ending, or destroyed and confirmed in writing if you prefer. We do not copy keys and we do not pass them to anyone who is not working on your property.

Alarm codes. Give them to us in writing and we treat them as confidential. We never write a code on anything kept with the keys.

If we cannot get in. We will call you and wait up to 20 minutes. If we still cannot get in, the visit is treated as a no-show and the cancellation terms above apply. This is the thing that costs customers money most often, so please tell us about broken keysafes, changed codes and new locks before the day.

Parking. If there is no free parking, tell us when you book so we can plan. We do not pass parking costs on to you.

Breakages and damage

Things do occasionally get broken. Here is exactly what happens.

Tell us within 48 hours of the job finishing. We will ask what was damaged, where it was, and a photograph if you have one.

Up to £250. We repair it, replace it, or credit it against your bill, whichever you prefer. No claim, no excess, no argument.

Above £250. It goes to our public liability insurance, which covers up to £5 million. We give you the insurer’s details and the claim reference, and we keep you updated rather than leaving you to chase.

We will tell you. If one of our cleaners breaks something and you have not noticed, we will tell you. We would rather lose the cost of a lamp than have you find it yourself.

What is not covered: items already damaged, loose or insecurely fitted before we arrived; wear that shows up once dirt is removed, such as worn carpet, scratched worktops or perished grout; and failure of an appliance we cleaned but did not cause to fail.

What we do not do

Some jobs need a different trade, or specialist licensing and equipment we do not carry. We would rather tell you now than turn up and decline.

  • Exterior windows, or anything needing a ladder above standing height
  • Laundry taken away, laundered or returned. We will strip and remake a bed where clean linen is left out
  • Carpet, upholstery and mattress cleaning, unless separately quoted
  • Mould treatment without inspecting it first. We will look and quote separately
  • Clearing or removing belongings, rubbish or furniture, including hoarded properties
  • Moving heavy furniture or plumbed-in appliances
  • Handling bodily fluids, needles, or pest infestations
  • Garden, drive, gutter and roof work
  • Handling a customer's medication, valuables or confidential documents
  • Any area where we judge it is not safe to work

If you are not sure whether your job falls into one of these, just ask. We will tell you straight, and point you at the right trade if it is not us.

Complaints

Step one. Tell us. Ring 07857 292747 or email [email protected]. If it is about the standard of a clean, the re-clean guarantee above usually settles it the same week.

Step two. We acknowledge every complaint within one working day and give you a full written response within five working days. If we need longer to look into something, we tell you why and when to expect an answer.

Step three. If you are still not happy, say so and the matter goes to the company director for a final written decision within ten working days. Complaints come to the director in any case, never to the cleaner who did the job.

We would always rather hear a complaint than lose a customer quietly. Nothing is taken off your bill without us agreeing it with you first, and nothing is added either.
